6:03 a.m.—Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched at about 9:53 p.m. for a report of an electronic fire alarm at the USS Alabama at 2703 Battleship Parkway in Mobile, Alabama, Sunday night, February 18, 2024.
Units arrived on scene noting nothing visible from the exterior. Light smoke was found in the air inside ship, which was traced to an air conditioner unit that had failed with no obvious fire found.
Units remained on scene to make sure there was no fire extension anywhere nearby, with nothing found, and assisted with clearing the air inside the ship. There were no injuries and units returned to service.
