
Chief Brandon Jackson is a native Mobilian and a 1992 graduate of Ben C. Rain High School. Chief Jackson brings more than 26 years of experience in fire & emergency medical services, communications, inspections & enforcement, emergency management, and technical rescue experience to the MFRD Administration. He is a Gulf War Veteran who was honorably discharged following more than 12 years of dedicated service. Jackson currently serves as the Chief of Staff, developing and coordinating objectives, plans, and programs for department divisions.
Chief Jackson began his career with the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department in March 2000, where he was assigned to Ladder Truck 17 at Douglas A. Melton Fire Station. With a deep-rooted love for the city and citizens of Mobile, Chief Jackson has spent his career pursuing knowledge, skills, training, and experience, allowing him to be the best public servant possible for his home town.
An avid learner and promoter of education, Jackson obtained an Associate of Applied Science in Paramedic Studies from Bishop State Community College. He continued his education with Faulkner University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources and a Master of Science degree in Management.
Obtaining several fire certifications from Alabama Fire College, Shelton State Community College, and Mississippi State Fire Academy, Chief Jackson believes education and training are vital components for a career in emergency management. Pursuant to his professional development as a Chief Officer, Jackson, also, delved into advanced, educational studies at the University of South Alabama, Clark Atlanta University, and the Carl Holmes Executive Development Institute at Dillard University.
Rising through the ranks of the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department, Jackson has responded to some of the most complex incidents in the country, all for the sake of ensuring the safety of our citizens and emergency personnel. He has received numerous awards for meritorious service and letters of gratitude from citizens.
Chief Jackson is a servant to all, committed to the city's citizens, visitors, businesses, communities, and firefighters.
