6:20 PM: Incident Command advises that crews have dammed the leak and runoff from the truck. While teams have contained the 40-50 gallon runoff, they are actively working to stop the leak to avoid further contamination.

Alabama Department of Environmental Management has been notified. No fluid has reached waterways.

5:54 PM: Crews are responding to a hazardous materials incident on Westbound I-10 between Broad Street-Duval Street exit and Michigan Avenue. The incident involves a semi-truck leaking approximately 140-gallons of diesel fuel.

Traffic is heavy in this area and is expected to increase. Travelers are urged to avoid the area anddetour on an alternate route, allowing responders to safely mitigate the incident.
