The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department's PIO Office avidly looks forward to continue working with all media. To better streamline, track, and follow-up on your requests for information, interviews, sound, public announcements, etc., please review and follow the MFRD
Please follow the Public Information Office protocols below to help us with each of your requests. It's important to make sure you're emailing MFRDMedia@cityofmobile.org for every request. Please refrain from calling and/or texting as your first option for official requests for information. Most of you already follow this protocol, but we need to make sure we get back on track so that we can properly respond to each request in an organized manner. Emailing us separately defeats what we're trying to accomplish.
In your email, please include as much information as possible about the your story, and make sure you also include your deadline, allowing appropriate response time to each request during office hours. Rest assured, MFRD's Public Information Office respects your work, your time, and your stories, and the PIO will respond to each request in a timely manner.
Additionally, unless there is a major incident after hours, please remember that the Public Information Office is staffed Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. If a major incident occurs after hours (nights and/or weekends), media personnel will receive appropriate response with as much pertinent information as soon as possible for your audience.
Again, all requests must be submitted to MFRDMedia@cityofmobile.org. This will help streamline the communication process so that your requests can be better handled, ensuring that no request for information is missed. Thank you for your understanding, diligence, and patience.
The Media Relations Office also works proactively to promote the department by informing the media of other operations that are not of an emergency nature. Some examples of this include:
It is the mission of the Media Relations Office to promote not only the emergency operations of the department but also the day-to-day operations. This allows the citizens and visitors of Mobile to have a greater understanding of one of the finest departments in the country, The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department.
