MFRD Hosts Annual Service Recognition Banquet

The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department held its 2026 Service Recognition Banquet, honoring the service of the women and men of Mobile Fire-Rescue, as well as recognizing . 

The night was highlighted by inspiring speeches from City of Mobile Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis and MFRD Fire Chief Barry Glisson, filling the room with exciting hope for the future of Mobile and public safety. 

Mobile Fire-Rescue had the distinct honor of welcoming Fire Chief Shannon Stone of Midway Fire Department, who offered a meaningful message to first responders, their families, and City of Mobile leadership.

The evening saw a host of awards presented to very-deserving team members for their monumental contributions to the MFRD and excellence in service over the past year.

A number of other awards and honors were presented, including recognition for each of the 2025 firefighters of the month and employees of the quarter, physical fitness gold medalists, and more. 

The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department issues a special thank you to Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis, Council President C.J. Small, Public Safety Director Curtis Graves, and several other City personnel for attending and always providing strong, visible support for the City of Mobile's fire department.
