Vehicle Fire on Airport Boulevard

Mobile Fire-Rescue Department crews were dispatched to report of a vehicle fire at Airport Boulevard and Schillinger Avenue Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at about 1:50 p.m.

Engine 11 arrived on scene to find a Ford pickup fully involved in the westbound lanes of Airport Boulevard. Personnel established a safe zone and extinguished the fire. The driver was out of the vehicle and was uninjured.

An investigation determined the fire to be unintentional, stemming from a vehicle issue. Traffic flow was restored after the burned vehicle was moved away from the scene.
