Whether the goal is developing agility, building strength and flexibility to enhance other sports or ensuring that your child has the best opportunity to push the gymnastics envelope, this is the place to be. We strive to incorporate the joy of movement and exercise through the sport of gymnastics.


Programs & Classes

  • Kinder-Gym (Ages 18 mo. - 3) Kinder-Gym introduces toddlers to the basics of movement in a playful and engaging environment. With the support of a parent or guardian, children explore balance, coordination, and body awareness while building confidence and social interaction skills. 
  • Preschool Movement (Ages 3-5) This beginner class introduces young children to gymnastics equipment and basic movements. Participants develop body awareness, coordination, and balance while building self-confidence in a structured and supportive setting.
  • Youth Gymnastics (Ages 5+) Youth Gymnastics focuses on developing fundamental gymnastics skills through progressive instruction and practice. Participants work on flexibility, balance, strength, and coordination while exploring a variety of gymnastics equipment.
  • Beginning Tumbling (Ages 5+) Beginning Tumbling introduces gymnasts to core tumbling techniques such as cartwheels, round-offs, back walkovers, and back handsprings. Instruction emphasizes proper form and skill progression.
  • Beginning Trampoline & Tumbling (Ages 5 - 8) This class teaches the basics of trampoline safety and tumbling techniques while helping students build strength, coordination, and body control.
  • Intermediate Trampoline & Tumbling (Ages 8 -10) Students expand upon foundational trampoline and tumbling skills while improving technique, confidence, and athletic ability.
  • Cheer Tumbling (Ages 10+) Designed for aspiring cheerleaders, this class focuses on tumbling skills commonly used in middle school and high school cheerleading programs.

Registration

Gymnastics classes are offered in sessions throughout the year, typically lasting four to six weeks. This format allows participants to try different classes or progress through multiple sessions.

ADA Liaison

The ADA Liaison provides inclusion to individuals with disabilities and/or medical conditions who request modifications to participate in other Parks and Recreation programs. The City of Mobile Parks and Recreation Department welcomes the participation of all individuals, including those with disabilities or special needs. We are committed to compliance with the ADA and provide reasonable modifications to facilitate program participation. We request that modification requests are made 3 weeks in advance, so we can communicate and prepare appropriate modifications. Inclusion

Inclusion is a service that provides accommodations to persons with disabilities for participation in recreation programs, facilities and leisure activities offered to the community. Inclusion also includes community and staff training, disability awareness programs, and accessibility of park trails and recreational facilities. Citizens with disabilities are encouraged to recreate with their peers by taking any class listed in our brochure.
