Diego Gomez Named the April Firefighter of the Month

The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department proudly recognizes Firefighter Diego Gomez as the APRIL 2026 FIREFIGHTER OF THE MONTH. 

Since joining the Department in the Spring of 2024, FF Gomez has proven to be a valuable resource beyond the day-to-day functions of a responder in his position. 

As a bilingual citizen, Gomez has, on several occasions, stepped up and taken initiative in providing support in using his valuable skillset. Through his efforts in community outreach, fire safety education, and more in communities where language barriers could potentially limit MFRD’s ability to effectively serve all demographics within the City of Mobile.

For his crew, MFRD Investigators, the City of Mobile, and families affected by life-altering medical emergencies and fire tragedies, Firefighter Gomez is an asset and deserving of the honor of being the firefighter of the month.
