Due to a number of downed trees and power lines, the City of Mobile is advising residents to avoid driving on local roadways until Hurricane Isaias completely passes through the area.
Downed power lines will not be picked up tonight so drivers need to avoid traveling on city streets, especially as it gets darker. There are also reports of downed trees over roadways throughout the city that can create hazards for drivers.
The city’s general curfew will go into effect at 7 p.m. and last through 6 a.m. tomorrow. Residents are asked to call 911 if there is immediate danger to life or safety. The city’s 311 system is available to report issues involving city services, like downed tree limbs, road obstructions, clogged drains or for questions about garbage and trash pickup.
Residents can dial 311 or submit a 311 report via email, a mobile application or through the portal on the city’s website. For more information on this and for update on Hurricane Isaias, please visit: https://www.cityofmobile.gov/hurricane-preparedness
