Grants Management
The Grants Management Department helps the City of Mobile find, apply for, and manage grant funding. These funds support City projects, programs, and services that benefit Mobile residents. We work with City departments and community partners to turn good ideas into well-planned projects. We also make sure grant funds are used responsibly and follow all local, state, federal, and grant requirements.
We Do Not Provide Direct Funding
The Grants Management Department does not give grants or financial assistance directly to residents, businesses, nonprofits, or other organizations. Submitting a request does not guarantee City support or participation.
What We Do
- Find grant opportunities that support City priorities
- Help City departments plan and prepare grant applications
- Coordinate grant applications submitted by the City
- Manage grant awards, reporting, and compliance
- Track how grant funds are used
- Support partnerships between the City and community organizations
Partner With the City
The City may work with nonprofits, schools, public agencies, and other organizations on projects that support City goals and community needs. Your organization may request:
- A letter of support for a grant application
- The City’s participation as a partner or co-applicant
- A partnership on a project involving City property, programs, or services
- Coordination on a grant-funded project that supports a City priority
Requests are reviewed based on the proposed project, City priorities, grant requirements, staff capacity, and available resources. Submitting a request does not guarantee City support, participation, or approval.
If your organization would like to propose a partnership, complete the Partnership Request Form. Include information about your project, the grant opportunity, the City’s proposed role, and all application deadlines.
