MOJO 25th Anniversary Jazz JamFest

The MOJO 25th Anniversary Jazz JamFest on Monday, September 28th will be an elevated, mini-festival experience to mark this significant milestone. The celebration will highligh our ongoing mission to preserve and promote jazz as America’s original music art form, while showcasing a multitude of stellar artists who began their careers in Mobile, and are now national and international jazz performers. We are honored to present a combined headline band featuring highly-acclaimed guitar duo, Roman Street, with trumpeter Alvin King and Gino Rosaria The Pianist! The opening bands feature stellar young artists who have benefitted from two of Mobile’s well-established jazz education programs: “Markes Johnson & Friends” (alumni of the Marcus Johnson Summer Jazz Camp, named in honor his late father); and “Andrew Ayers & Friends Jazz Band” ( alumni of the inaugural season of The Jazz Studio: A Program of Excelsior band Preservation, Inc., now in its 11th Season). To further enhance the experience, vocalist/guitarist Symone French will welcome attendees upon entry and saxophonist Jarvis Wright will entertain the crowd during band breaks throughout the venue. Individual tickets cost $35 (Gen.), $65 (V.I.P.), and $15 (students). All attendees under the age of 21 must be accompanied by an adult. More information and tickets are available at mojojazz.org.
