Robert Holm, USA Faculty Piano Recital

Dr. Robert Holm, USA Professor of PIano, will present a faculty recital on Tuesday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. The concert is subtitled "Music of the Americas," and will include not only USA Romantic and Jazz works but also pieces reflecting the sounds of Brazil and Argentina. Featured highlights on the first half of the program are from North America -- Gottschalk's "The Union," Barber's "Nocturne," three preludes by Gershwin, and "Touches" by Bernstein. The second half of the concert will have music with a South American flavor -- Milhaud's "Saudades do Brasil," Nazareth's "Odeon," and Ginastera's "1st Sonata." Tickets for this Musical Arts Concert Series event will be sold at the door only. Admission is $8 general and $5 for USA faculty & staff, USA students, youths under 18 and all senior citizens (cash or card accepted). Musical Arts Series season passes will of course be honored for admission to this event.
