Mobile, Ala. — Join Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis, Mobile Airport Authority Vice Chairman Luckett Robinson, along with engineering and public works professionals on Thursday, March 21 to celebrate and spotlight one of the area’s most transformative projects.

The Engineering & Public Works Roadshow will make a stop at the site of the Mobile International Airport project as part of an ongoing effort to inform the public and policymakers about what good infrastructure means to society, the economy, and the environment. The Roadshow will kick off at 11:30 a.m. at the site of the Mobile International Airport, which is currently under construction. Following remarks from event participants, the group will take a tour of the inside of the site to learn more about the progress happening there ahead of substantial completion of construction of the structure this fall.

The state-of-the-art project includes a five-gate passenger terminal, parking garage, and elevated roadway designed to improve regional accessibility and support future growth in commercial air service. Once commercial operations transition to the new facility, the airport is expected to enhance passenger convenience while supporting continued economic growth, tourism, and regional connectivity opportunities.

Members of the media are invited to tour the facility following the presentation. There will also be opportunities for interviews and b-roll. Media and other guests will be allowed to park on the elevated roadway leading to the terminal. A map with directions to the elevated roadway is attached.

For almost four years, the Engineering & Public Works Roadshow has traveled to communities across the country to spotlight infrastructure projects and the professionals behind them, demonstrating how investments in public works and engineering improve quality of life, strengthen resilience and support long-term economic vitality.
